GRAPHIC NOVELS IN THE CLASS ROOM: Educators’ curriculum guide.
50 ways to bring the Graphic Novels’ process to the classroom for educators and students, across the curriculum. ONLI STUDIOS has created this guide to assist educators who know that Graphic Novels combine visual and literary arts into a powerful tool for reading engagement, conflict resolution and other measurable landmarks in education. These suggestions are grouped into various subject areas.
This is a mobile / downloadable asset to the busy dedicated educator who may not have the time of local resources to make these considerations. This curriculum guide was a proven tool while being developed in the Chicago Public Schools’ Kenwood Academy High School, that happens to be in the personal neighborhood of President Obama. Prof. Onli is a retired Chicago Public Schools’ Art Educator along with currently being a professor of Art Appreciation and Studio Drawing at the Harold Washington College in downtown Chicago. He taught ACT and SAT Test Prep along with Graphic Design at this high school for 8 years. During this time he developed this tool to help his students to improve test scores along with their engagement to the learning process.
